The Silent years in Jesus’ Life (Part 2)

It is obvious that the period of 18 years which is between 12 to 30 years of Jesus life was not expressly written about, but we are not in total darkness as to what he did or would have done as regards the challenges raised in the Part 1 of this article.

It is worthy of note that Jesus had Godly parents, His mother a virgin accepted a word from God that could cause her public shame, Luke 1: 38. His father Joseph too was adjudged a righteous man, Matt 1:19.

This gave a good foundation to understand the kind of persons that gave him counsel and also the kind of persons he submitted to. ‘Then he went down to Nazareth with them and WAS OBEDIENT TO THEM’. (Luke 2:51a)

So when he had the teenage pressures of wanting to sag trousers, retaliating, clubbing, fornicating and all that was listed in the first post, he took counsel from them.

Now concerning Him having to wait till 30 years before starting, it was his appointed time, yours may be different.

Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differed not from a servant, though he be lord of all; but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. (Galatians 4:1-2)

It is worthy of note to understand that there is time for everything.

We may not have ‘Virgin Mary’ as a Mother or ‘Righteous Joseph’ as a father, but we have so many counsellors and teachers. Are we obedient to them?

‘For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure’. Prov. 11:14.
Shalom.
